Sermon Note (1st Svc)

Pastor Joshua McCauley

It is not just about gathering in church to learn something but actually for a commissioning for you.

If you desire God to do more in and through you, you are not by mistake here.

God will use you mightily. It is in God’s grace at how He will use us.

Gideon’s example. He was arguing with God. He saw limitation in himself.

In every single person, God is releasing us into what He has for us.

Do not see the size you have now but what He has in stored for you.

You are the plan!

Romans 1:16-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

The power of God sit in the revelation of Christ alone.

If the gospel is not working in you, it is not working a testimony around you.

The world look at someone who claim to be God’s child, and see this person stressed out and hard to please God, the world do not want this God.

Evangelism is about exposing the goodness of God in our lives.

When you recognise you are weak and your Lord is good and strong, the world will be surprised about the peace you have

The righteousness of our God is revealed.

God wants us to have radical faith in grace. Faith has to be positioned. It has to aim at something.

Faith gets to something

God wants us to access faith in grace.

Genesis 22:1

Abraham’s Faith Confirmed

(Heb. 11:17–19)

Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”

And he said, “Here I am.”

The test is not a trap door. God’s plan for us is to see His supply and His goodness.

Genesis 22:2-4

Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off.

God told Abraham he is going to sacrifice his son and Abraham told them they were coming back.

Prayers is not about whether we pray loud or soft.

Prayer is supposed to be burden remover. Cast your cares on the Lord because He cares for you.

Burden of provision

We will return

God wants us to trust Him today even we do not understand.

Zero logic

How can you prepare those you have not seen?

Trust the Lord. You come out good and better off.

The city of Jericho was designed to house the army of Israel.

The promises of God

Whatever come against you, God turns to be an asset

Genesis 22:7-8

But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!”

And he said, “Here I am, my son.”

Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.

If you come with Jesus, you come with the greatest sacrifice.

God will provide for Himself the lamb. Today God has provided for you

God created time.

Do not hide what is wrong with your life

God wants to take our burdens from us and give us His peace.

Genesis 22:9-10

Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

Genesis 22:11-12

But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”

So he said, “Here I am.”

And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

Genesis 22:13-14

Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

God has provided a greater way. What in our lives should we stop and see God providing for us. God has provided a Lamb to suffer for us.

Going through a supernatural suffering. He is for us!

Peter was not just follower of Christ. He was the worse. Peter denied Jesus to a crowd that is not intimating.

In the place where Peter denied Christ was pretty small. Peter denied Him to a little girl.

And Peter was the one Jesus used for Him!

Jesus mentioned first name was Peter! He called for His disciples and Peter.

Peter was mentioned by name!

Acts 3:1-9

A Lame Man Healed

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”

So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

Peter experienced grace like no other disciples. He was the greatest failure. You do not need money, you need the grace of God.

Peter realised Jesus reached the lowest and the least and be used in the mightiest way in Christ!

Peter stands up by the grace of God!

Redemption is believe He has redeemed us!

Peter failure was at his lowest and Jesus’ grace worked mightily!

The answer to all problems is the grace of God!

Possess this!
