Sermon Note

Pastor Lian

Life is too short to hold on to mistakes. Don’t dwell on troubles and challenges but dwell on the goodness of God and the good things God has done for us.

This is the year of us living in the upper room. So where do we live?

We definitely don’t want to live dwelling in challenges

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Thoughts for heavenly living

Upper Room, heavenly thoughts

Whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is good repute

Anything of excellence

Worthy of praise

Dwell on them

The root word for excellence is airo

To lift up

Dwell on things of God that lift me up and not pull us down

Dwell on those things that lift you up

In the course of our living, the evil one make us feel pulled down and weight down and lousy.

If you are rehashing things of the past and keep kicking yourself, today in Jesus’ name it stops!

Rehashing on God’s Word instead

Let your thoughts be heavenly thoughts

Dwell on things that are excellence

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,

whose mind is stayed on thee:

because he trusteth in thee.

Peace is shalom

Shalom is perfect peace

Jesus keeps us in a place of perfect well being

Have our mind just stay on Jesus

1 Chronicles 4:9-10

And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Stayed –

To lean upon, take hold of, establish

Stop living in the pain, shame

”Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.“

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭32‬ ‭ESV‬‬

We have been forgiven much

Bitterness unforgiveness anger hatres, you will be destroyed as a person if you are carrying them

“Of one thing I am perfectly sure: God’s story never ends with ashes”

  • Elisabeth Elliot, These Strange Ashes

You forgive them and remove the desire hoping them judged

You cannot make everything right. Only the Lord can make everything right.

Don’t carry the shame

Condemnation, reject them.

God has so much more for you

Army of God’s people walking in glory

Jesus did that for us. For you and for me. Jesus wiped it all clean! Today we have a clean board.

Jesus made us the righteousness of God in Christ. We are the apple of His eyes

He is well-pleased with you!

You are now His precious child! The child whom Jesus loves.

You are the head and not the tail
