Sermon Note

Pastor Prince

It is what God says that is important.

A fingerprint shows 12 years

A lady suffered for 12 years. Jesus healed her. Number 12 is the number of divine governance

Job 29:6

When my steps were bathed with cream,

And the rock poured out rivers of oil for me!

Butter is the richness of God’s Word

To see Him is to be transformed and receive life

Even as Moses lifted up the serpent, the Son of Man is lifted up at the cross.

One look at Him we are healed.

We look at Jesus and we see how wonderful He is.

He has conviction

He has holiness

Looking unto Jesus is looking away from anything else

None of us in and of ourselves can make things happen

God gave us the law and said do your best and man tried and was under the law but man could not.

He came and brought grace.

Grace saved the worst of us.

Under grace, God saved the worse of us

The law is perfect and it does not bend. Those who believe in grace has most respect of the law

To be saved-> Believe on Me

Everytime you boast in the law, the Lord will tell you one thing you lac

One look of grace, Jesus called Zacchaeus

He said He must eat at his house

You can be a poor man with plenty of money. Are you born again ?

Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly

Law restrict

Grace opens up your heart

Luke 18:43

And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

Luke 19:2

Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

Mark is a gospel under divine Servant

Mark was known as a man who failed miserably

This man failed terribly writing about the divine Servant who never fail

Luke is written for all men

Jesus showing His Manhood

Book of John ->

God comes in human flesh

Began with God and He is God

Mark 10:45-52

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

(Matt. 20:29–34; Luke 18:35–43)

Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.

Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

I did not come to be served. I come to serve.

We act like we have everything. No. He is rich. He is the complete one

What can we give unless we first receive

Jesus did not come to be served, He came to serve

How can God forgive without proper righteous foundation and bypass the law

Wrong must be rectified

Sin must be punished

But God don’t want us to be punished

Jesus was the only Baby born to die

They asked Him what is His name and He said I am that I am

God cannot punish you for the same sin Jesus took on the cross

He is merciful in sending His Son

Exodus 21:1-6

The Law Concerning Servants

(Deut. 15:12–18)

“Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them: If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years; and in the seventh he shall go out free and pay nothing. If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself. But if the servant plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.

This servant is a willing servant.

Jesus came to bless us. We are poor in and of ourselves

Jesus takes the little and enriches it.

He multiplied the little

Jesus is always going about doing good and healing the oppress

God can bless the little and it becomes much. It is the blessing that make us rich

Put in His hands and He will always bless it

Psalms 40:6-7

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;

My ears You have opened.(pierced)

Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

Then I said, “Behold, I come;

In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

Friends, don’t just exist, live.

You do not have to do anything to earn His ℓσνє

Mark 10:45-52

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

(Matt. 20:29–34; Luke 18:35–43)

Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

One thing is needful. Mary did that one thing

Jesus is a divine guest. He came to serve and not to be served

Jesus ministered to the lady at the well.

Though He was tired but when He ministered to the lady, He was refreshed.

It is the opposite of man

Psalms 116:12

What shall I render to the Lord

For all His benefits toward me?

Psalms 116:13

I will take up the cup of salvation,

And call upon the name of the Lord.

When you are so full, what hurts you is when no one takes from you

Faith is the hand that takes from Him

What do you take from Me so little?

Joshua 6:26

Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, “Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.”

1 Kings 16:34

In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, according to the word of the Lord, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun.

Great multitude followed Jesus

Bartimaeus is not a name. It means son of the uncleaned one

He is a blind poor man

God did not want robot. He wanted man with free choice.

Nazareth was known as a sin city

Because of what Jesus has done, it emits fragrance

Son of David means the king

Jesus has double claim on the throne

He was born King.

This King with all the power He has, He goes around blessing and healing.

Our trust must be completely in the Lord

Don’t put your utmost trust in people.

It is not who you are. It is who you say of Jesus that makes it different

For 2000 years Jerusalem was back to the hands of Jews

God was doing a parallel with the story of Jericho

Joshua 10:12-14

Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:

“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;

And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”

So the sun stood still,

And the moon stopped,

Till the people had revenge

Upon their enemies.

Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.

The One who made the sun stood still stand still when the blind beggar cried out.

We are all lost in our lostness. We are a society today more connected than other society. Yet we are never so lonely

The answer is found in what we say of Jesus

The Lord goes right to the point when people tried to flatter Him

God was the first one to kill animals and clothed us

Is a picture of His Son who died.

Go your way. Your faith has made you well

He never obligated the people He heals

He never makes His grace/healing as something that obligates us
