Sermon Note

Pastor Gabriel

Romans 5:5 (NIV)

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. us.

Hope does not disappoint.

Hope does not dishonour you

Hope does not disgrace you

The ℓσνє of God is poured into your heart

When you pour water into a glass, you pour from outside in

God pour His ℓσνє from inside in.

Kataischyno – dishonour, disgrace, put to shame

God first pour His ℓσνє into our hearts by Holy Spirit

How you come into a place where there is hope? Not worldly hope

Bible hope is sure and certain expectation of things to come

Romans 5:1-4

Peace and Hope

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

We boast in the hope in the glory of God

Don’t boast in your achievements and take pride in it. It is useless.

Boast in the glory of God

We also glory in our sufferings. In the nature it does not make sense. The pain the anxiety is real.

Because we know for sure that sufferings produces perseverance

Perseverance produces characters

Characters, hope

We don’t want to be people who give up easily

It is a fight of faith

When we look around, things seems so dark.

Testimony –

Last month Pastor had electronic product that broke down. The warranty ends on 11 Nov (which is tomorrow). He decided to bring it to the customer service shop to repair. He received it in 31st Oct. they assured it is working well. When he brought back it was not working. He was deciding what to do. He was very angry.

He did not feel good about it.

He decided to bring back to the shop again. He was angry and wanted to show how angry he was at the customer service centre. When he reached, he felt a restraint which he knows it was from the Lord.

The customer service lady gave a smile and his anger level went down to 70%

The product could not be repaired. He got a brand new one as an exchange.

Praise the Lord!

—-

Pastor did not go there with confident expectation of hope. But God was so good. He soften his heart and gave him a restraint. Praise the Lord for His goodness. Even when we did not have this hope, yet God is still good. Without confident expectation of good, we are frustrated.

At just the right time, Christ died for the ungodly.

God is always on the right time.

You have adorable child and imagine someone come up to you and said this righteous hero man need liver transplant, can you give your chid’s liver to him? None of us in the right mind will do that.

God demonstrates His ℓσνє for us that while we were sinners, Christ died for us.

Demonstrates -> Present active indicative tense

While we were still sinners, God sent His Son.

This is the ℓσνє of God.

Death of Jesus at the cross of Calvary is not confined by time. He created time. God IS light.

In Chapter 7, revelation brings result. We have a new and living way.

We have better covenant establish

When we eat the bread, eat as if He just died.

When we hold their bread in our hands, it is supernatural.

How we feed on the Word of God?

Feed it fresh.

God wants to provide fresh bread and manna from heaven.

Think of your favourite food right now. Remember how it taste? Yet we will drive and q up even if it is long q.

You still go for your favourite food over and over again.

How does it make your feeding of Word any lesser?

We ℓσνє freshly roasted lamb and fresh food. Our spirit man yields for fresh bread from heaven.

Lets not have familiarity

God does not want us to be familiar with His Word. He wants us to be intimate with Him.

Keep it fresh.

Romans 5:6-8 (NIV)

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Bride of Christ, we are made to be intimate with our Lord Jesus Christ.

God delights in blessing marriages.

Feeding on His Word, lets not be familiar. Lets be intimate

Colossians 1:27-28

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.

Christ in you, the hope of glory.

He humbled Himself to be arrested. This is how humble God is. Christ lives in us is the hope of glory. Supernaturally yet naturally.

Lets treat one another with wisdom.

Fully mature in Christ

Perfect in Christ

We know His word is finished and we are complete in Christ.

We are complete not in and of ourselves but complete on Him!

1 Peter 1:3-5

Praise to God for a Living Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Don’t let it be just a routine coming to church. Enjoy the Word afresh

We don’t just have hope, we have a LIVING HOPE. We have a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Don’t get tired of this.

We have friends whose hope and dream had died. I pray that they are strong again. Serve the Lord with strength, depending on His power!

An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.

Heaven on earth is when you have wonderful family time with your loved ones.

Through faith, we are shielded by God’s power.

1 Peter 1:13

Be Holy

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.

Set your hope

Rest your hope fully…

Hope perfectly…

Upon the grace that is being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ

Grace is brought to you

Not by steps

Galatians 5:5

For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Wait eagerly

Receive the blessings of the latter rain

Farmers in Israel they look forward to the season of latter rain.

God has promised in His Word

They believe in the biblical sowing and reaping

If you don’t see the blessing of latter rain, perhaps it is time to sow, time spend in the Word

Joel 2:23

Be glad then, you children of Zion,

And rejoice in the Lord your God;

For He has given you the former rain faithfully,

And He will cause the rain to come down for you—

The former rain,

And the latter rain in the first month.

Jeremiah 23:4

I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord.

If you are lacking, perhaps it is time to feed on the Word

Jeremiah 23:5-6

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,

“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;

A King shall reign and prosper,

And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

In His days Judah will be saved,

And Israel will dwell safely;

Now this is His name by which He will be called:

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

The Lord our righteousness

He is our righteousness. We don’t have to earn our blessing, bonus. Receive the grace He first gave us.

Today you have a living hope. His name is Jesus. He was conceived in the virgin womb of Mary. He grew up into young adult. He lived a perfect sinless life. He went around doing good. He was betrayed by one of His own. He was arrested. He suffered. He bled. He died on the cross. He was buried and rose from the dead. He live a power and endless life. He is the living hope. The hope that lives in you and me.
