Sermon note written in December 29, 2013 in New Creation Church (not a transcription)
Why are we suffering symptoms of the curse?
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives of the just be delivered (Isaiah 49:24 AMP)
Notice – lawful captives
Man was created to enjoy all God’s goodness!
This earth is fallen. This earth is not what God wants it to be.
God gave this earth to man. God made man not as robot. God wanted a man with free choice. To have free choice means risk.
If God surrounded man with all good in the garden, then is not free choice.
God gave man free choice. God is awesome respecter of free choice. God never meant for man to die or grow old. Sin brought all these things to this earth.
What is sin?
Sin is saying “God i don’t trust u in what u say, i trust satan wanna me to enjoy”
We are made in God’s image!
The Son came in the form of baby.
Jesus was born. This is a mystery.
What I cannot understand I can worship. I cannot understand a God of eternity depends on His mother in the bosom. He was born so that He has blood to shed to redeem us.
God has worked our bodies in 7 days’ cycle. God ordained this cycle, not man.
The devil never give anything without taking much more from u. When one take something from devil, one become a lawful captive.
Come to hear the Word of God.
Human experience via the Word of God. God’s Word is Truth regardless of human experience.
Nothing to do with good motive, everything to do with ignorance. Good motive alone is not enough. It is important to have accurate information.
How can a lawful captive be delivered?
Thank God for the story of Christmas! Jesus came to take away all the legal rights and deliver us!
Hold onto God’s word and your experience will line up. Even when we don’t understand everything, don’t let go of God’s word.
God gives us Jesus which we don’t deserve.
God wanted man with free choice.
Jesus wept when someone is dead. He remembers God’s will is not for man to die.
Jesus is God before He was born.
When Mary carried the baby, He was a God of eternity.
God whom we don’t understand fully, let us worship Him!
Isaiah 49:24
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, Or the captives of the righteous be delivered?
Legal captive – it is like saying satan had the right to capture.
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives of the just be delivered? (Isaiah 49:24 AMP)
Take what Jesus says everyday. To deliver us from evil. See the blessings in our lives.
God does not look at degree of sins or goodness. He sees saved or not saved.
When one sins, he is giving the devil right to capture.
When one sins, one does not believe God, but believe devil can help you. (Legal right)
Those guilty does not need to come under captive! Jesus came to the marketplace. In Roman’s marketplace they will sell human as a slave. Jesus is the Only free and wealthy One. Rich relatives, but they must be willing.
Jesus came to the marketplace where they are all legal captives. Don’t touch anything that belongs to the devil. Why look for food in the rubbish bin?
When Jesus gave His life at the cross, it was a love of God paying to the justice of God! He is not paying to the devil.
The cross is the payment – the Innocent for the guilty.
All human blood is tainted with sin but Jesus’ blood is pure!
His blood is outside time. He can die for people before Him and present day.
To redeem – Exagorazo
By payment if a price to recover from the power of another.
A price must be paid to redeem someone from the power of another.
The death of Christ is a justice of God.
Jesus came. He knew no sin He did no sin. He came to redeem! By paying the price! The price is His blood! Jesus’ blood came all the way from the Father! The blood was to be shed to buy us out from the market of sin!
The love of God paid the ransom for the justice of God.
Jesus did not owe the devil. Jesus paid a debt for us which He never owe!
God has been glorified in the sacrifice of Christ!
Christ became our Substitute !
The death of Christ has glorified God in the place of sin.
He magnified and fulfilled the law!
God’s justice has been satisfied.
Are you suffering from the symptoms of the curse?
Galatians 3:13-14
Christ has redeemed (exagorazo) us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Can lawful captive be delivered? Yes! Jesus has redeemed us by having become a curse for us!!
Blessings from verse 1 to verse 13, but from verse 14 to 68 are curses!
Many of the people don’t understand what is curse, so from verse 14 to 68, there are details of curses there.
Deuteronomy 28:15-16
Curses on Disobedience
“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
“Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
Christ fulfilled the commandments for us! Christ is the end of the law! For righteousness to everyone who believe!
The curse is not in a location. It is with the people.
Deuteronomy 28:29
And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you.
Prosperity is a blessing! We are prosperous!! If two shall agree it shall be done! God make man to live in abundance! We run for the Lord and money run after u!
Deuteronomy 28:32
Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look and fail with longing for them all day long; and there shall be no strength in your hand.
Christ redeem us from this curse!
God wants our family blessed.
Deuteronomy 28:60-61
Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed.
We are redeemed from every sickness and diseases.
God does not cause it, He allows it. We are now under blessings only because Christ has fulfilled the law!
Deuteronomy 28:66-67
Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. In the morning you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were evening! ’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were morning! ’ because of the fear which terrifies your heart, and because of the sight which your eyes see.
People who fear cannot live in the moment. Christ has brought us out of this curse!!
Christ paid everyone of these curses! Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law with the payment!!
Galatians 3:13-14

Deuteronomy 28:68
“And the Lord will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ‘You shall never see it again. ’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
Ultimate insult – no one will buy you when you are been sold as slave..
No one will buy you…but JESUS DID! Jesus bought us!!!
Gal 3:5-14
Galatians 3:5
Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? —
Works of the law or hearing of faith? Hearing of faith!
Go back to hearing, hearing! When you are hearING, God is workING miracles for us!!
Faith comes by hearing and hearing! Not having heard.
The greatest gift is to be right with God and He has paid it for us!
Started with virgin born Son and ended with Lion of Judah.
Been right with God by faith!
Christian can suffer from symptoms of curse.
Right believing leads to right living.
If we believe we are righteous by faith, we are blessed and received!
Once we are righteous by faith, blessings come atomically.
If you are actively trying to keep the law, there are surely things you did not do. As soon as you are actively keeping the law, you are under the curse.
Galatians 3:10
The Law Brings a Curse
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
As many as are of the works of the law – those who are trying to fulfill the law.
Those who are of faith are blessed. Faith believe.
Work do.
Are you doing it or believing it?
Righteous shall live by faith. Doing can’t be believing.
Pharisees are of the works of the law.
Miracles happen because they believe. Abraham lived before the 10 commandments. He believed the same gospel we believed.
Number the stars – tell the stories of the stars. Woman’s seed will crush the serpent’s head.
We are bought under the bright and morning Star!
The more we believe, fruits will come out. Fruits of the spirit.
God makes us right as a gift!
Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Freely we have received, freely we give!
When we don’t freely give, we don’t freely receive.
Freely – (Dorean – undeservedly, gratuitously) given as a gift.
Take away all veils. Lets focus on Jesus and unbelief will go out of window!
Healing is given gratuitously!
Healing is received freely!
As many has touched Jesus, they were made whole.
Focus on Jesus, not the sick.
It is not the prayer, it is who we are praying to.
Proverbs 26:2
Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow,
So a curse without cause shall not alight.
Noah found grace! Every curse that comes there must be a reason for it. But Jesus has taken the curse for us!
Curse without cause
causeless – chinnam (it means unmerited)
The curse by grace will never come.
Grace Grace!
It is not how faithful we are, it is how faithful Jesus is! When we live in the realm of grace, the curse cannot come!
Hear right and believe right and everything will be alright!
Isaiah 49:24-25
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty,
Or the captives of the righteous be delivered?
But thus says the Lord:
“Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away,
And the prey of the terrible be delivered;
For I will contend with him who contends with you,
And I will save your children.
