Year of the Latter Rain

You have not because you asked not. James 4:2

David had everything, power and might yet he coveted another’s wife.

God was very upset. He said if you have wanted more, i would have given to you. Why you did not ask?

You have not because you asked not.

You ask but receive not because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

This is a different kind of pleasures. This is about worldly pleasures.

Does God wants you to have more than enough? Yes!

Whoever wants to be friend with the world makes an enemy with God

Prioritise God first.

God will more than make it up for you !

But God gives more grace

God resist the proud, but give grace to the humble

David asked for hearing heart to lead the great people of His!

When you ask for the right thing, God gives much more.

Zechariah 10:1

Ask the Lord for rain

In the time of the latter rain.

The Lord will make flashing clouds;

He will give them showers of rain,

Grass in the field for everyone.

God will restore to us the years the locust has eaten. God called the locust His great army. God the Judge sent His army of locust to consume when they sin.

But because we are redeemed by Jesus Christ, the old us have died with Him on the cross. Now when God sees me, He only see Jesus! I can therefore expect to be blessed. I can expect God to restore the years that the locusts have eaten.

But when we align ourselves with God, God is the One who provide.

Eat in plenty and be satisfied

My people shall never be put to shame

Genesis 27:28-29

Therefore may God give you

Of the dew of heaven,

Of the fatness of the earth,

And plenty of grain and wine.

Let peoples serve you,

And nations bow down to you.

Be master over your brethren,

And let your mother’s sons bow down to you.

Cursed be everyone who curses you,

And blessed be those who bless you!”

Things we can see are temporal. Things we cannot see are eternal.

Don’t make life-changing decision when you are stressed or angry. Go and sleep.

When Issac blessed Jacob, there was dew of heaven and plenty of grain and wine. This is first born blessing.

The grain and the wine is first-born blessing.

There is a special thing in this blessing.

We have the higher blessing. We are the children of the God of Jacob.

Isaiah 55:10-11

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,

But water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower

And bread to the eater,

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

God was describing the rain with His Word.

The Year of the Latter Rain is about His Word.

Rain is typology of His Word.

The year of the latter rain is to have a greater revelation of His Word in our lives.

Hosea 2:21-22

“It shall come to pass in that day

That I will answer,” says the Lord;

“I will answer the heavens,

And they shall answer the earth.

The earth shall answer

With grain,

With new wine,

And with oil;

They shall answer Jezreel. (God sows)

1 Peter 2:24

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Psalms 129:3

The plowers plowed on my back;

They made their furrows long.”

Plenty of grain and wine – first born blessing

Jacob – dew of heaven (spiritual)

Esau – fatness of the earth (earthly)

It is not about what you know but what you have.

The issue when we are disappointed is pride. God is in control. God is in the house.

Covet the spiritual – To hear from God

The year of latter rain for new beginnings.

Bamboo when u plant for 5 years, nothing happen till 5 years later.

You wait and wait and this is the year of the latter rain ! It shall happen this year!

Open your mouth and tell God, bring God into the situation.

Your greatest strength is your greatest weakness. The problem with us is we think we know.

When you find yourself in that attitude, stop.

Raise the situation, help me even more out of it.

When you don’t pray about it, you think the glory is to you.

Don’t rely on what we know.

Don’t rely on our experience.

Lean on the Lord and receive His grace.

Personal revelation of the Lord’s finished work when we take holy communion.

Park ourselves in right anointing and church to hear the Word and receive the rain

There is a “there” for all of us, where He will feed us.

When you are aligned with God’s Word, He will lead you to the “there” to feed and provide you.

Psalms 22:21 (before Psalm 23)

Save Me from the lion’s mouth

And from the horns of the wild oxen!

You have answered Me.

Lion’s mouth?

Proverbs 19:12

The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, (condemnation)

But his favor is like dew on the grass.

Horns of the Wild Oxen?

Unicorn? Antelope? Rhinocerous

Psalm 22 is about Jesus’s sufferings at the cross.

Numbers 23:22

God brings them out of Egypt;

He has strength like a wild ox.

He is for them like the horns of the wild ox

This horn represents the strength of God

Job 39:9-12

“Will the wild ox be willing to serve you?

Will he bed by your manger?

Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with ropes?

Or will he plow the valleys behind you?

Will you trust him because his strength is great?

Or will you leave your labor to him?

Will you trust him to bring home your grain,

And gather it to your threshing floor?

Will you have faith in him that he will return your grain (money and health) and gather it from your threshing floor?

God is saying trust Him. Leave our labour to Him.

Grain speaks of health

Restore to us our youth

Let us live to 120

Pray for the body you want.

We are now abnormal! We are supernatural!

Wild ox is a picture of Jesus

Cursed is the man who hang on the tree

Plowers plowed on my back

Poverty is a curse. Poverty is a mentality.

Psalms 92:10

But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox;

I have been anointed with fresh oil.

Sometimes we think we are in the house long enough, we are the one. It is not.

David was outside the house.

God chose David. Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David.

1 Samuel 16:13

Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

Jesus removed His horns and gave us His anointing and worn our curses (thorns)

He took down His humanity and gives us His anointing

See yourself anointed. The spirit of God will come upon us.

Take our eyes off the world and put our eyes on Jesus!

We don’t talk like the world.

I am anointed. Put me in the “there”

Put me in the place of the blessings.

We can have rain but if not seed sown, no harvest.

Seed sown is what are the promises we are believing God for.

There must be seeds!

Seeds sown -> harvest

The prayers are about His pleasures, align with what God sees

James 5:7

Be Patient and Persevering

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.

Establish your heart for the coming of the Lord is at hand
