Sermon Note

Pastor Lawrence

Ephesians 5:15-18

Be very careful, then, how you live —not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

How to continuously been filled with the Spirit?

Ephesians 5:19-21

speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Instructions for Christian Households

5:22–6:9pp — Col 3:18–4:1

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Many times what jobs to take, what house to buy, what investments to make, these are decisions not clear from the bible. You need to understand specific will from God.

My friend, you start singing. Sing praises to God. God will give you wisdom. Many times you start seeing things you did not see before.

Give thanks to God despite things in your lives.

The worse thing can happen to any human being is death. Our Lord Jesus Christ awaits us with open arms.

There is much to give thanks to God to.

Psalms 34:1-5

Psalm 34,

Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.

I will extol the LORD at all times;

his praise will always be on my lips.

I will glory in the LORD;

let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

Glorify the LORD with me;

let us exalt his name together.

I sought the LORD, and he answered me;

he delivered me from all my fears.

Those who look to him are radiant;

their faces are never covered with shame.

The transition that took place because David took time to bless the Lord

The job description of a Savior is to save you.

He saves you today, He saves you tomorrow and He will always save you.

Open your mouth to praise Him. Sing and make melody in your heart

You can hum a tune.

In every situation you can praise Him

It is good to sing praises to our God

Praise is beautiful.

Something happens when you praise Him

He is the fairest of 10,000

Look to Him. Look away from your problems

1 Samuel 16:14-16

David in Saul’s Service

Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.

Saul’s attendants said to him, “See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the lyre. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes on you, and you will feel better.”

When you are distressed, sing and listen to anointed music. As you are listening you are singing. Confused the enemy.

They want to make you cry you make them cry.

Listen to anointed music, your breakthrough will come.

Spirit of prophesy takes over

1 Samuel 16:21-23

David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, “Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him.”

Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.

2 Kings 3:9-19

So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, and they marched on that roundabout route seven days; and there was no water for the army, nor for the animals that followed them. And the king of Israel said, “Alas! For the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?”

So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the LORD is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.”

But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

And Elisha said, “As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. But now bring me a musician.”

Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. And he said, “Thus says the LORD: Make this valley full of ditches.’ For thus says the LORD: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’ And this is a simple matter in the sight of the LORD; He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand. Also you shall attack every fortified city and every choice city, and shall cut down every good tree, and stop up every spring of water, and ruin every good piece of land with stones.”

Anointed music brings in spirit of prophesy

God will speak to you.

Numbers 21:16-18

From there they went to Beer, which is the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.” Then Israel sang this song:

“Spring up, O well!

All of you sing to it—

The well the leaders sank,

Dug by the nation’s nobles,

By the lawgiver, with their staves.”

And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah,

Singing praises to God is worship. Worship is not just singing. Is an act of worship to God

Whatever challenges you are going through, keep on singing

Amos 9:11

Israel Will Be Restored

“On that day I will raise up

The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down,

And repair its damages;

I will raise up its ruins,

And rebuild it as in the days of old;

Give thanks to the Lord.

David designated people specifically to give thanks to the Lord because His hesed endures forever

1 Chronicles 16:41-42

and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because His mercy endures forever; and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.

Praise and worship the Lord everyday

God wants us to praise Him and worship Him

You do it everyday. You can always have a song in your heart

When you complain you remain.

When you praise you will be raised

Isaiah 60:1-2

The Gentiles Bless Zion

Arise, shine;

For your light has come!

And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,

And deep darkness the people;

But the LORD will arise over you,

And His glory will be seen upon you.

Isaiah 60:4-7

“Lift up your eyes all around, and see:

They all gather together, they come to you;

Your sons shall come from afar,

And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.

Then you shall see and become radiant,

And your heart shall swell with joy;

Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,

The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

The multitude of camels shall cover your land,

The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah;

All those from Sheba shall come;

They shall bring gold and incense,

And they shall proclaim the praises of the LORD.

All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you,

The rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you;

They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar,

And I will glorify the house of My glory.

Isaiah 60:11

Therefore your gates shall be open continually;

They shall not be shut day or night,

That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles,

And their kings in procession.

How do we keep the gates open?

Isaiah 60:18

Violence shall no longer be heard in your land,

Neither wasting nor destruction within your borders;

But you shall call your walls Salvation,

And your gates Praise.

The revelation is this…

When you praise the Lord, blessings will come.

Praise the Lord day and night

Keep on praising the Lord and blessings will come into your life.

Forget about the past, the challenges you are facing right now

Rejoice in the Lord always and again i say rejoice.

Rejoicing is in Him. In the beautiful Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let your rejoicing be in Him. Look to Him and you will be in radiance

Luke 17:11-19

Ten Lepers Cleansed

Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

When you give thanks, only good things will come your way

You will attract the blessings of God in your life. Keep those gates open.

You want to be strengthened, praise Him.

Keep on praising and giving thanks. Good things will happen to you

How can we fight ? Give thanks for He is good.

Maybe everything is bad, but there is always one thing that is good. Our Father God is good. Give thanks !

Good things and bad things will work together for our good.

Start to praise. Get back your life of praising Him

Keep those gates open.

Be it day or night, praise Him

Habakkuk 3:17-19

A Hymn of Faith

Though the fig tree may not blossom,

Nor fruit be on the vines;

Though the labor of the olive may fail,

And the fields yield no food;

Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,

And there be no herd in the stalls—

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,

I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The LORD God is my strength;

He will make my feet like deer’s feet,

And He will make me walk on my high hills.

To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.

Nothing is working YET he rejoiced in the Lord

He will joy in the God of his salvation

Wake up in the morning praise Him

Sing the word in the bible. Praise Him and let your heart be appreciative of Him
