Sermon note (4th svc)

Humble ourselves and the Lord exalt us!

To humble ourselves is to look away from self and look to Jesus! The Lord gives increase

One word from God can change your lives forever. God’s Word even if u forget it, will work in you because you received it.

A boy was asked by the father who is the farmer to fill up water in a basket to water the plants. The boy said it leaks and no point. However the father said it works because the basket is cleaned.

God’s Word in our lives will work in us.

As long as there is area of fear and anxiety, to that extend the Word has not dropped into our hearts.

Knowledge puff up but love edify. We shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

Lord unveil to me the truth that i need that You can set me free.

To that extend we are worried, that area we lack of revelation.

The purpose of everything we received from God is to humble us.

Revelation drop from head to the heart.

Jesus is a Master at answering and asking questions. The Lord never answer a question just to answer.

Luke 13:23-25
Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?”
And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’

Focus on the narrow gate, the only way is through Jesus Christ.

John 8:19
Then they said to Him, “Where is Your Father?”
Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”

He brought it back to where their conscience was.

Matthew 2:4-6
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ”

It is possible to have bible knowledge but did not give any edification. Know the Lord by revelation and this is so precious.

Above everything else, pray for God’s wisdom and revelation in the knowledge

Receive the revelation of Christ and it humbles us.

Whatever blessing in our lives is all the blessing of God.

Without Your grace we cannot eat our food.
God wants us well!

It is good to remember that our families and all that around us are there because of His grace. We have forgotten where we came from. The Lord loves us.

Above all the sins is the sin of pride. Love of self-importance.

Christ who is everything came and made Himself nothing for us.

Trust His will. Unless He impart we can possess nothing.

When we pray, use simple words to pray.

God does not want us to pray prayers that are technical.

Be direct with God.

Pray specially the areas we want and be direct with God.

There is an area in your lives you are always knocking your head on the wall. That area seems to be without favour. The closed door is a blessing from God.

God answers exceedingly above all that we ask or think.

Right now maybe you are in the place you think God does not have better things for you. Perhaps there is a wall in front of you and you try to knock down the wall. Nothing seems to be happening.

One area of blindness (God does not send sickness! Jesus went about healing!) when you do not have the breakthrough you want, ask the Lord. Ask Him what is going on

God loves us too much for us to waste away our youth

When something control us instead of us controlling it, God is jealous. He wants us to be healthy!

3 John 1:2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Job is the oldest book in the bible. Satan was there. God will make use of situation whereby He wants His children to go a higher place!

God will deal with us with disappointment or frustration. God may call you full time.

God will deal with you because He loves you!

James 5:11
Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

The end result is that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

The Lord restored to Job double of what he lost.

When Job was told by his friends he had sin, he said all the good works he had done. There is hidden pride.

Job cannot be blessed beyond that pride.
Job started boasting about his person.

Morning stars sang. Stars sound sync with music.

God reserved the highest place for His Son.

You can find your way home through the cross.

Allow the Word to melt our hearts and become a part of us.

Job 42:5-6
“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,
But now my eye sees You.
Therefore I abhor myself,
And repent in dust and ashes.”

Now you see a broken Job.
God heals the broken hearted.

Broken in our will, not broken in the spirit.

God loves us. Whom He loves He corrects!
We ought to feel love! God cares about the success of our lives. God wants us to go a higher place!

Hebrews 12:2-11
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Discipline of God
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful (heaviness) ; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Chastening – child training

Don’t make light when God trains you. God can never rebuke you unless you need to be rebuked because He loves you.

When you are corrected, feel loved.
Feel loved!

God chasten and train people He loves.

David was not smooth sailing. He went through the wilderness.
Joseph had dream and the dream are from God!

Joseph went through that. He was thrown into the pit. God want us saved!

David attitude become kingly because he went through the wilderness.

Someone is asking right now, where is God’s palace? Where is God’s favour?

Lets say God gives you 5 millions, we have this mentality that God will make all smooth sailing. There is a dealing. God prepares us before the promotion so that we become safe. So that we don’t become proud.

God was preparing David and Joseph.
God prepared Joseph for greater things. He prepared his character.

God does not chasten us with sickness and diseases. The result of chastening is LIVE.

Live is Zao.

Even if you don’t care about yourself, God cares!

Jesus went about healing. He is always healing.

The child of God that needs training are not in the Word or attending church. God will cause them to encounter the Word. Cause them to switch on tv and see preaching program.

God can still send His Words. That is the reason for TV ministry. It goes into places in the world that we cannot go.

God is our Rescuer.
God’s highest way is through His words!

You don’t want God to leave you alone.

God deals with His children as sons.

God deals with His children using circumstances. It is for our profits.

God does it for our profits that we might be partakers of His holiness.
It is not we by our efforts become holy. We learn to receive.

God does not chasten only with His Words. He can also deals with us with circumstances.

David was under law. Abraham, Issac were good examples.

2 Samuel 12:23
But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

God does not use disease or sickness. He uses circumstances or even frustration

Jacob deceived his father. He met his future father in law who was a master in deceiving.
He deceived his father, then his sons deceived him.

Jacob was under the covenant of grace.

We don’t need to judge people, let God deal with them.

God does not always correct with negative circumstances. Negative circumstances is when we refused to listen to His still small voice.

God uses good things to teach us.

1 Chronicles 13:11
And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak (perez) against Uzza; therefore that place is called Perez Uzza to this day.

Uzza – human strength (self effort)

God taught David with victory.

1 Chronicles 14:9-11
Then the Philistines went and made a raid on the Valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?”
The Lord said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.”
So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

Baal Perazim -> Master of Breakthroughs

God can convict us by giving us a victory.

1 Chronicles 15:2
Then David said, “No one may carry the ark of God but the Levites, for the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister before Him forever.”

God can teach us with victory!

This world is fallen that is why we need to pray

The son of man gave the authority to devil.
Now we give authority to Jesus. Something don’t happen until we pray. Jesus is an Advocate.

Luke 22:31-32
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked (demanded) for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Simon – he was walking according to flesh. Simon was his old name.

How come satan can go to God and demand for Peter?
Because Peter had a problem with ego. With his pride.

We can go through less discipline when we humble ourselves.

Pray my family and I don’t go into testing.

Pray everyday that our Lord don’t lead us into testing.

Job said he wished there was a Mediator between him and God. We have this Mediator, Jesus!

In the midst of our failure, our faith will not fail.

The Lord rose from the dead, He mentioned Peter’s name when he spoke abt restoration.

You are afraid of your weakness but actually your weakness are your strength!

God’s grace cannot flow where we are strong. Where we are weak, God takes over. God conquer us with His love. We “conquer” God with our weakness!

When he was unbelieving he was Jacob. When he was believing he was Israel. Same person.

The strongest part of our body, right thigh.

When Jacob wrestled with God, God touched his right thigh and he fell.

Israel -> prince

God is captured by human’s weakness.
Don’t be ashamed to tell the Lord our weakness.

Transform me in this area. You are my peace!
If you are always worrying about your health, and said to Him you are hypochondriac, ask God to change us! We are His righteousness.

He gives power to the faint! To them that is no might He gives power!

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

In and of ourselves there is nothing to be proud.

1 Corinthians 3:5-8
Watering, Working, Warning
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

It is God! All we have is God!

The end result of what we are going through
He who gives us the increase and He will give us the reward!

The greatest prosperity is come to know Jesus.

Lead us not into testing.
