Worship Workshop
– By Pastor Ronald

There is a common language all over the world, worship.

When Pastor first came to NCC, he was from traditional church. First thing that impacted him was worship. There was something different. He could not understand how the congregation could worship and not just singing.

The most important thing is you cannot worship the Lord if you believe you can lose your salvation. If you believe you can lose your fellowship with the Lord because you sin, there is no way you can worship the Lord. If we believe when we fall God condemn us, there is no way we can worship truly.

Pastor wants us to know how blessed we are. We are forgiven past present and future and there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

If you do something and must earn God’s love, you cannot worship Him truly

So you would come – (a song)
Nothing you can do to make Him love you more. Nothing you have done to lose His love

First mention of worship –

Genesis 1:14-19
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Psalms 148:3
Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!

Psalms 19:1
PSALM 19
The Perfect Revelation of the Lord
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.

When God created light, sound also came forth.

Radio wave travel at the speed of light.

Heavens are declaring. The sun and moon are praising God.

24/7 praises are going forth to the Lord and we can join in.

Genesis 29:35
And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she called his name Judah. Then she stopped bearing.

Yadah – hands are lifted up

When God created praise, when Jews do things they do it with their bodies mind and spirit.

When we want to praise the Lord, lifting up our hands should be the default.

Psalms 44:8
In God we boast all day long,
And praise Your name forever.
Selah

Psalms 111:1
PSALM 111
Praise to God for His Faithfulness and Justice
Praise the Lord!
I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,
In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.

Psalms 86:12
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.

In the world, the sound of victory is shouting, joyful noises and even lifting of hands. The sound of defeat is silence.

Romans 4:17
(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

We can call forth things that are not as though they did. When we pray before breakthrough we are calling forth before it happened!

In His Kingdom, we call forth what does not exist as though they do

Lift up the name of Jesus in the midst of our challenges.

We say what the Word says about us and not the fact around us.

Romans 8:37-38
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

We are more than a conqueror. Jesus is the Victory. We stand on victory ground. We enjoy the fruit of the victory.

In the midst of challenge don’t feel we need to do the fighting. I am more than a conqueror

2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

“Always”
Can we believe in every situation is “always” victory? Be mindful and don’t take the battle back from Jesus. We feel we need to do something and be in control. Than we mess it up.

It is not a maybe or hope so, but it is “always” triumph in Christ.

You are watching your King and Saviour do the fighting. We praise the Lord.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment. You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

We can praise our way out of distress, debt and discontentment (the 3D Army of 1 Sam 22:2)

3 areas cover the 3 parts of us.
Discontentment – of the soul
Distress – happen in spirit realm (in the way we think, emotion) conscience is part of the spirit man.
Debt – The demands of what we must do and not what He has done – create lack mentality

When all are not going your ways, praise the Lord.

Psalms 34:1-3
PSALM 34
The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God
A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

Continually – always praising
Soul – boast in the Lord (5 senses are feeding our soul)

Bless the Lord at ALL times.

Exalt His name together. There is an anointing when we come to Him together and worship

Humble shall hear of it and be glad.
His grace is sufficient for us.
If we believe His grace is sufficient for us in every situation, why we sometimes don’t experience it? God gives grace to the humble.

Grace is like water flowing. Can water flow upwards? Water flows downwards. Water rushes down when there is lower level.
When we are proud and believe we can take the situation , we are standing tall and water cannot flow. When we humble ourselves and acknowledge our weakness and bow down, grace will flow down. Grace rushes into situation.

The humble will hear and be glad.

The proud will say don’t need and think he did it himself.

Deut 8
Do not forget the Lord, lest you say it is by my power and by my hands that i have done it.

It is at the point of victory that we are more vulnerable.

God did every part of it. Nothing on our part.

Exodus 17:10-13
So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

Firstly see what happened. There was corporate worship going on.

When we are in the midst of our challenges it is good to share with people, in the midst of our family, worship Him together. There is power in corporate worship.

Corporate worship has a different dimension to it.

We should always be rushing for corporate worship.

Encounter Night – rush to it. On Encounter Night we can linger in worship. That is the kind of space you want to be in.

When we lift our hands the door of grace open! Something happened when we lift our hands.

It is no more just nice to lift your hands. Lifting of hands is worship.

Psalms 22:3
But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

When we praise we make holy the place.
Worship sanctify the place and makes it holy.

When we praise the Lord in our battles, God shows up.

We are new creation, sons and daughters and we have power that we have forgotten.

1 Samuel 16:14
A Distressing Spirit Troubles Saul
But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him.

1 Samuel 16:23
And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.

We are forever saved.

From is consent rather than directive. Saul instead of seek God’s approval, he seek popular approval. He wanted the people to give him the glory.

Whatever high position we are in, we know it is nothing of us and all of Him. When we try to hold on that crown, this is where trouble is.

Today no distressing spirit can enter us but it can distract us.

When we feel a sense of not so good environment, even when we just play our guitar, we can chase the distressing spirit away.

Just standing there and lifting up our hands is also praising Him.

Mark 1:23-24
Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

When God enters into situation, evil spirit must flee. Confusion and fear must flee too.

Sing and lift up our hands in His honour.

There is a difference between technical gifting and anointing.

Don’t be discouraged. We are opening more and more platforms.

Sea of Galilee, when there is outflow, life will flow.

Only when we step our feet into the water, then the water in the Red Sea spilt.

Step up and step out of your comfort zone.

God’s energy and power is released into our situation when we praise Him. He changes the whole environment around us.

What support our spirit lives? Is heavenly sounds.

It is important we are in the environment of praise as much as we can.

Our spirit man needs to breathe. This is the heavenly sound that help feed our spirit man

Bring God into our situation and cause fear and distress and confusion to flee.

Even Jesus was not able to do miracle when there was great unbelief.

Matthew 13:58
Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

We can change the atmosphere before things happen.

We want revelation to drop into our hearts and not just head knowledge.

Judges 7:3
Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’ ” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.

Why did they leave? If they were there they fight the battle and they were fearful, God asked them not to go into the battle. God does not work on numbers. It does not means the more numbers they are the better it is.

If you go into battle without the latest technology you will be fearful.

It is important to fellowship with like-minded believers who can stand in faith with you.

Joshua 6:10
Now Joshua had commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout or make any noise with your voice, nor shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, ‘Shout!’ Then you shall shout.”

All those times they cannot say a single word. They were a generation who were from the wilderness. Everything was provided for. They were not men of war.

They were facing powerful city in the war. They were asked to walk around and not talk. If they talked they would have talked fear.

If we enter the environment of doubts and unbelief and we allow it to grow, our faith will not grow.

We praise the Lord and the Lord appears and the spirit of unbelief and doubts flee.

The power of corporate worship.

Hebrews 2:11-12
For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying:
“I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”

When we come together in corporate worship, Jesus is with us and worshipping with us to the Father.

Even when we make mistake, and when we are singing we think of other things, Jesus washes these thoughts. The Father sees the perfect worship.

Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Psalms 103:1-2
PSALM 103
Praise for the Lord’s Mercies
A Psalm of David.
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

The soul realm is the mind and the emotion.

3 John 1:2-3
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.

The seed is the Word of God.

Matthew 13:23
But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

The thorny ground – cares of the world

Desire to be the good ground.

Judah shall plow

Hosea 10:11
Ephraim is a trained heifer
That loves to thresh grain;
But I harnessed her fair neck,
I will make Ephraim pull a plow.
Judah shall plow;
Jacob shall break his clods.”

God can speed up things.

Praise Jesus. He is working in our hearts. He is plowing and we can be the good ground.

Sons of Jacob (Genesis)

When you are able to forget your troubles and put your past behind you, you will be doubly fruitful.

1 Chronicles 5:1-2
Chapter 5
The Family of Reuben
Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel—he was indeed the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright; yet Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a ruler, although the birthright was Joseph’s—

Genesis 35:22
Jacob’s Twelve Sons
And it happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard about it.
Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

Numbers 34:13
Then Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: “This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.

Numbers 34:15
The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, across from Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.”

Numbers 34:19-29
